Day Two: Nevada and Utah!

It's Friday! Already we're mixing up the time zones! Nevada is.. well, Nevada. Our GPS was set toward Salt Lake City and a great restaurant we heard about: Hires Big H. They're known for their rootbeer, which I love, especially w/ hard ice cream! However, once we got to Salt Lake, we got lost and spent an hour finding the place. It was really good.. but no hard ice cream! Then we got totally turned around and it took another hour to find the Temple, which has construction all around it. It was time to leave .... Utah drivers are treacherous! The next leg of our trip was nothing short of Amazing as we drove through true geological wonders. The colors kept changing, and it looked like we had landed on a moonscape. Dinner was to be in Salina (how to pronounce? Emma and I had different ideas!). This has been written up all over the place... so we went w/ high expectations. Wrong. Oh well.
Final leg to Moab, were we arrived tonight. My computer chord has bit the dust ... so I hope I can keep this up tomorrow... when we will explore Arches National (?) Park.

  1. Hi, Pamela & Emma! Great job on the blog! Isn't Moab an interesting place? DeeDee and I drove through in June & thought it would be fun to explore. Be sure to stop at Hole in the Rock, 12 miles south of Moab. It's a hoot! And there's ice cream in the little shop across the parking lot. Jan
